We All Get What We Tolerate

We all get what we tolerate.
And I don't mean what we tolerate in other people.
I mean what we tolerate in ourselves.
If you tolerate feeling sorry for yourself, then that is exactly what you will keep doing.
If you tolerate low energy, excuses, negativity, and inaction, then that is what your life will continue to produce.
But the moment you stop tolerating those things, the moment you draw a line in the sand and say,
No more, something changes.
When you refuse to tolerate self-pity, you begin looking for strength.
When you refuse to tolerate low energy, you begin taking action.
When you refuse to tolerate negativity, you begin looking for solutions.
And positive action creates positive results.
The truth is, you can look at any situation and find something wrong with it.
You could hit the lottery and still find a way to turn it into a problem.
"Now my life is going to change.""What do I do first?""Now I need a financial advisor.""Now I have to pay taxes.""More money means more problems."And yes, some of that may be true.
But there is another way to approach it.
"Let’s slow down.""Let’s take this one step at a time.""Let’s find someone we trust to help us.""Let’s handle step one, then move to step two."Same situation. Different mindset. Different outcome.
Too often people spend 90% of their energy obsessing over the problem instead of putting that energy into the solution.
And sometimes they go the other direction entirely.
They think,
Now I can buy the better car, the bigger house, the nicer things, and finally feel good about myself because I have more than the people around me.But that is not the answer either.
Because the real problem was never the car.
The real problem was the meaning they attached to it.
If I say,
I feel sorry for myself because I don’t have a better car than someone else, then I have already surrendered my peace to comparison.
But if I say,
No, I won’t tolerate that kind of thinking. My car gets me where I need to go. It is good enough, then I take my power back.
And if I don’t have a car, maybe I ride a bike.
If my bike has a flat tire, maybe I walk.
If my foot hurts, maybe I get an Uber.
If I can’t afford an Uber, maybe I ask a friend for help.
There is almost always a solution.
But first, you have to stop tolerating the mindset that keeps you stuck.
You have to stop tolerating self-pity.
You have to stop tolerating low energy.
You have to stop tolerating negativity.
Then you look for the solution.
And then you act on it.
People love to say,
knowledge is power.I disagree.
Knowledge is not power.
Knowledge is only potential power.Knowledge without action is worthless.
And action becomes much harder when your mind is filled with negativity, excuses, and self-pity.
That is why your first battle is internal.
Because when you stop tolerating the thoughts that weaken you, you free yourself to take the actions that strengthen you.
And those actions are what create results.
We all get what we tolerate. So be very careful what you allow yourself to live with inside your own mind.
